To all our students, both new and returning - Welcome to the start of a brand-new academic year! 

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the McKeown School of Education becoming a stand-alone school at SSU. It provides an opportunity for us to reflect on how we have evolved as a community of educators and inspires us to envision a bold future for the field of education in the next 10 years and beyond. 

As the concerns of our democratic society grow, it becomes more and more crucial for us to galvanize as a community of educators to challenge and support today’s students so they become engaged citizens who bring ideas and solutions to today’s greatest challenges. The next 10 years are pivotal, but our work begins today. 

Every day, I continue to be amazed by the ideals, fortitude, and courage of our McKeown students. I am so proud to have you as a part of our community and look forward to a growth-filled academic year ahead.
